Hunstanton is a warm and friendly town built in 1846 as a sea bathing resort by local landowner Henry Styleman Le Strange and retains much of its Victorian elegance. The town has a fabulous sandy beach which has won awards for safety and cleanliness.

If sitting on the beach and a paddle in the sea is all too sedate for you then the sea offers the choice of a little more exhiliration with windsurfing, sailing or kite-boarding.
Then again, maybe it is better just to watch others enjoying themselves

A short walk along the beach or through the Esplanade Gardens towards Old Hunstanton and you will come to the famous striped cliffs. Walk along the beach in the late evening and you will see what is unique to an east coast resort, the sun setting over the sea.

The town is affectionately known as 'Sunny Hunny' because we have some of the driest, sunniest weather in the whole of England. And yes it does rain sometimes but do not despair for there is still much to do. The Princess Theatre offers a wide variety of choice throughout the year with many well known artists appearing. In the summer they produce a summer season programme and of course there is the good old pantomime at Christmas. Oh yes there is.

The Sea Life Sanctuary offers a chance to see the work carried out by the seal rescue teams operating locally as well as to see Otters, Penguins and more than 30 permanent displays all showcasing the rich diversity of life under the waves.
